Hello Doug,
I used my digital camera to take these photos of the Vesley company
in my shop this morning on my drafting table
using photopoint.com. I think the photos date back to 1963: a book packet made for the
Apache dealer.
These photos came from friends of mine, Paul
& Fran St Pierre of Lapeer, Mi.
I have known them for seven years. They were former employees
of the Vesley company. Last year
I went up to Lapeer to see them. The zipper on my canopy
was original from 1965, and some of the teeth as you start
the zipper were coming apart. It was a known problem and
it was fixed. They both had worked
in the canvas department
at Vesley company. When I went to
pick up my canopy,
I had asked if it was okay to let me take this booklet
to a printing shop down town in Lapeer. It was okay with them.
I came back two hours later and
gave them their book back.
I just cherish these photos. When I opened up the book
I tried to scan these photos,
but it was too slow. It just was not right,
so I used my digital camera. Looks like it came out right. Next year I hope to
send you complete digital pictures of
the Apache parts manual.
I am just nuts about Apache campers -
they are the best camper ever built.
But anyway, talk to you later on,
keep on camping, don't let
the Apache die out! Luke W Kawecki
PS - In the photos,
you will see a picture of Fran in the canvas
department sewing canvas.
Talk to you later!
